Our mission is to give our students tools that will serve them far past high school. At White Knoll Middle School, we prepare our students for success through habits of scholarship and hard work. We believe that all of our students are gifted, and we strive to help each student reach their full potential. Warhawks are encouraged to dream big, and we are here to help them achieve.

Principal’s Corner

Donald Hardie

At White Knoll Middle School, we are committed to helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics outlined in the Lexington One Graduate Profile. Through a rigorous academic program delivered by knowledgeable and compassionate educators, we strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for every student. This year, we were honored to receive the School to Watch designation. This is a national recognition that recognizes schools that prepare students to be lifelong learners ready for college, career, and citizenship. The National Forum supports middle-grades schools in becoming academically strong and responsive to the needs and interests of young adolescents. We are extremely proud to receive this designation and the continual growth that we achieve through the challenges of maintaining the designation.

Our district vision — Guiding all students to learn, grow and excel — drives everything we do. At WKMS, we focus on two key priorities to turn this vision into reality. First, we believe that students must believe in themselves before they can achieve their goals. We encourage students to dream big, set ambitious goals, and take ownership of their learning. Second, we emphasize social-emotional development. Through advocacy time, guided by iLead and AVID philosophies, students participate in activities that promote being personally and socially responsible, independent learners through goal setting and future-ready literate. At WKMS, we welcome all students to come and learn and grow. Warhawks, let’s SOAR!
